A new painted sign at Cheyenne's King Soopers indicates that the curbside pickup area (formerly Click List) has moved to a new location on the property. The old Hallmark Gold Crown is no longer vacant, and you'll have to go to a different part of the property for your curbside service.
A little bit of history
The plaza where Cheyenne's King Soopers is located was built around the turn of the century with the Laramie County Property Assessor GIS map noting a build date of 2000. The space just east of King Soopers had been occupied by a Hallmark Gold Crown store for a great number of years (since at least the mid-2000s).

King Soopers, on the other hand, appears to be original to its space and used to operate twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. They shifted away from the twenty-four hour model in 2017, two years before the Colorado stores did the same in 2019.
Back up a little bit. In 2011, permits were submitted to remodel the interior of the King Soopers store including a shift to a newer Kroger-style package. This remodel would include removing the tile and other aspects of the store previously present which can be seen in photos in the Wyoming State Archives.

In late 2015, new permits would be submitted for another remodel, but this time, it would include adding a new Starbucks Coffee kiosk, a new cheese island, among other tweaks to the store. Two years later in 2017, another set of permits would be submitted for yet another remodel.
This time, the remodel was primarily for King Soopers' curbside pickup, then-known as Click List. It included the addition of a ramp, walls, and a sliding door in front of the store that would make up the pickup area, and signage for the pickup parking spots would be added to the parking lot as well.

Back to Hallmark Gold Crown, this location was Cheyenne's last standing Hallmark store, and it closed around early 2020 near the start of the pandemic, the space eventually being placed on the market. It remained vacant since... until quite recently, sometime over the last few months or so.

In late 2023, another set of permits would be submitted for yet another remodel, the fourth one in less than two decades' time. These permits would be for an overhaul of the setup for what was previously called Click List, King Soopers' spin on curbside pickup.

The new plans indicated that the now-previous location of the sliding door for the pickup area would be replaced with a fire exit door. The walls for the old pickup area were to be removed, and items were to--once again--be stocked in the southwest corner of the store.
The plans also include the removal of the pickup signposts in the parking lot; the signs have been taken down, but the posts haven't yet been removed. The sales floor already once again occupies the southwest corner of the store as was confirmed in a recent visit.

The permits submitted in late 2023 also would place the pickup area inside the former Hallmark Gold Crown space. Visiting the location in late February 2024, this is now the case; the pickup area is clearly inside of the old Hallmark location, and signage indicates the pickup area has relocated to the rear of the building.
The site plans indicate that there were plans to have thirteen parking spots behind the store for pickup. As of a recent visit, there are twelve spots marked with signposts, and a few of the signposts still need signage installed to reflect that they are indeed for pickup.

A painted word mark on the front of the former Hallmark (in addition to stickers in the windows) directs pickup users to the rear of the store where they can pickup their products. A sliding door has been installed as well that looks suspiciously similar to the door previously used in front of the store for formerly-Click List.
Beyond the scope of this article
There is something to be said about the current status of King Soopers, Albertsons, and the Albert-Krogerson deal (and there's even more from Wyoming), but that's beyond the scope of this article; the bottom line is that King Soopers (Kroger) is still separate from Safeway, and Cheyenne's King Soopers still operates to this day.
There was also talk in 2022 of King Soopers looking to merge with nearby Dell Range Liquors (located one space east of the former Hallmark Gold Crown) that would allow for a package liquor section under the King Soopers banner, although to this day, the Dell Range Liquors banner is still displayed on its storefront.

Updated: 10:57 AM MT on 02/27/2024 to add the word "pickup" before the first occurance of the word "signposts." Not all signposts are being removed, only the pickup signposts.
