New Candy Store in the former Journey's at the mall! - Dulces Cuh Mexican Candy Store

A new candy store has just recently opened at the Frontier Mall with plans to be here for years to come! Here's a glance at the space's history as well as the new Dulces Cuh Mexican Candy Store.

A touch of history

The Frontier Mall itself was built in 1981; Journey's had been present in space 18 since at least 2001. For those not familiar, Journey's sold various clothing items such as shirts, jackets, and shoes.

Back on July 7th, 2023 during a weekly update video, it had been discovered here at Optopolis that the Cheyenne Journey's had closed. It's not clear at this time exactly when nor why it closed, although it's safe to say it had closed in 2023.

Since at least July, the space has remained vacant, eventually having lease signage posted. That is, until recently!

Candy shop, Dulces Cu Mexican Candy Store opens

As soon as the start of October 2023, signage had been posted in the space that indicated plans for a new shop called Dulces Cuh Mexican Candy Store, a brand that already has locations in Castle Rock and Broomfield in Colorado, making the Cheyenne store their third location!

At the turn of November, the Cheyenne store opened for the first time as further confirmed by a Facebook post from the Dulces Cuh Facebook page.

The store sells all kinds of candy, snacks, and even some ice cream products. Some products available are those that are more of a part of American culture (such as Cheetos or Doritos), while other products are more like what you likely would expect for a business with "Mexican Candy" in the name.

Although candy and snacks are certainly their vocal point, the store does also have some clothing on display, and their Facebook page advertises piƱatas available.

Upon speaking to a worker at the new Cheyenne location, it turns out that this is not a seasonal store like the tiny Toys R Us store was or the Hickory Farms store is (which is coming back again this year); the store plans to be open for years to come.
