Cheyenne's Medicap Pharmacy has been open for many years. It turns out that it dates back to 2001, the year noted as the build date in the Laramie County Property Assessor's GIS map, and a 2014 article written by

Medicap announces Cheyenne store is set to close

It turns out that the Cheyenne store's current owner, Gene Barbour, is retiring, and the store is set to close. Signage in the window indicates that the store is set to close on June 20th (Tuesday), and all prescriptions/files will be transferred to Walgreens on the day following the closure (June 21st).

Another smaller sign posted both in the drive thru window and at the door clarifies that starting June 21st, you'll have to call Walgreens to move your prescriptions/files to another pharmacy if you wish. It also thanks customers for 22 years of business.

Where can I transfer my prescriptions?

There's apparently concern over services offered by Medicap Pharmacy that aren't offered at other pharmacies, so here's an alphabetical list of various pharmacies currently located within or around Cheyenne, Wyoming.

  • Albertson's Pharmacy (Yellowstone Rd, E Pershing Blvd)
  • Cheyenne VA Pharmacy (E Pershing Blvd)
  • Cheyenne City Drug (Carey Ave)
  • Target/CVS Pharmacy (Dell Range Blvd)

Although some of these pharmacies may not be able to offer the same services that Medicap Pharmacy did, hopefully this list will help you find one that can help you continue getting your prescriptions/services.
