Cheyenne's Sprouts Farmers Market, a chain that labels itself as an "organic and natural food store," is nearing completion and is planning to open near Prairie Avenue in late November 2024!
Previous events with Bed Bath and Beyond
The soon-to-be Sprouts store front, officially located on Rue Terre, is a former Bed Bath and Beyond that was built in 2007. In early February 2023, Cheyenne's Bed Bath and Beyond began the process of their store closing sale prior to being added to the official, public list of closing Bed Bath and Beyond stores. Bed Bath and Beyond closed the Cheyenne store on April 23rd, 2023, the same day that the chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

For the duration of the 2023 Halloween season, Spirit Halloween temporarily used this space for their secondary Cheyenne store. (This Spirit Halloween will not be returning in 2024; instead, for this Halloween season, Cheyenne's Spirit Halloween will occupy the former Absolute Flooring.)
As soon as October 25th, 2023--the day that Barnes & Noble held a ribbon cutting at their new Cheyenne store--rumor was already spreading of a new business coming to the Cheyenne Marketplace. Thanks to permits in the Cheyenne city planning website submitted on November 13th, it was revealed that Sprouts Farmers Market was actively working to open a Cheyenne store.
- As of January 2024, the interior walls and bathrooms that made up Bed Bath and Beyond had already been completely removed.
- By mid-March, the concrete floor had been demolished.
- In April, a newer set of permits were approved.
- At the start of May 2024, a chunk of the windows and window frames in the front of the store had been removed.

When Sprouts will open & other information
By August 11th, 2024, new banners had been placed on a billboard along Dell Range Boulevard near Converse Avenue which indicate that Sprouts is set to open on November 22nd. Although many upcoming locations are listed, the Sprouts store locator doesn't yet list the Cheyenne store. However, the Wyoming page in the locator has been created, although it also doesn't yet display the Cheyenne location. It turns out this hidden page in the locator has existed since at least 2022.
As of an evening in early August, construction workers could be seen leaving the Cheyenne store, suggesting that some construction work is still happening inside. Although most of the windows and window framework have been put in place, it appears that the front doors still need to be installed, as plywood still covers the main entryway into the store.

In recent months, the Cheyenne Sprouts store has been hiring. According to their jobs website, they're still looking for an assistant store manager, but no other job listings are currently listed on their website. Both the job listing and at least one permit indicate that the Cheyenne Sprouts is set to be store number 338.
Although the hours for the Cheyenne store have not yet been announced, Sprouts stores in nearby cities (including Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, and Longmont) are typically open 7 AM to 10 PM, seven days per week. New permits submitted earlier this month (in progress but not yet approved) indicate what signs are planned to be installed at the new Sprouts store.

The signs in the permit include but are not limited to banners and a temporary self-standing sign that would tease the new store and its opening date--in addition to permanent signage that is expected to be installed on the store front and on the plaza sign that stands just west of Buffalo Wild Wings' parking lot.
Update 10-20: Sprouts is nearing opening day!
Cheyenne's soon-to-be Sprout's already has its signage on the building and curbside pickup parking in place near the store entry. They added bicycle lockup facilities out front of the store, facilities that were previously not available at Bed Bath and Beyond; previously, a cyclist would have had to lock up in front of Plato's Closet, lock to an unusual object like a pole, or not lock up at all.

According to Cap City News, a job fair was previously held at Little America Hotel and Resort on West Lincolnway; the fair occurred occurred on October 9th and 10th. Cap City's Jared Gendron shared that the store hours will be 7 AM to 10 PM, mentioning that the store opens at 7 AM on their first day. The Sprouts store locator does now list the Cheyenne store, and it confirms the opening date of November 22nd which can be seen on a billboard along Dell Range Boulevard.
The Cheyenne page on Sprouts website now displays a timeline for everything that's happening as part of the grand opening process at the Cheyenne store. They will have events happening throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It starts off with a Ribbon Cutting at 6:45 AM MT on November 22nd. For a full list of details, visit the Cheyenne Sprouts page.
(If and when more information comes available to Optopolis on the topic of Sprouts opening the Cheyenne store, this article will likely be updated to reflect that information.)

My biggest concern with the Albertsons and Kroger merger has been the monopoly setup it creates here in Wyoming and the way that UFCW union will handle now merging three different contracts in to one one unified union contract with this merger and I fear it will not go smoothly with some losing privileges and raises as well perhaps resulting in a multi-store union strike!
As time progress we shall see but I see the merger as a double negative for Cheyenne and for Wyoming as well!
