Cheyenne's 2nd Spirit Halloween is gonna open!

As shared previously, Spirit Halloween is opening a second location in Cheyenne's former Bed Bath and Beyond space for the 2023 Halloween season. Here's everything about it you need to know!

A look at past events (Bed Bath and Beyond)

Cheyenne's Bed Bath and Beyond was original to its space which was built as part of the Cheyenne Marketplace in 2007. Although it is unclear at this time here at Optopolis the exact day/year of opening, the new store was operating by or before 2011.

In late 2022 and early/mid 2023, Bed Bath and Beyond was in the process of actively closing loads of stores across the US. Although not yet officially announced at the time, the Cheyenne store began the process of closing by February 7th, 2023.

In the morning of April 23rd, Bed Bath and Beyond announced that they were filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, and the Cheyenne store ended up closing for the final time later that day.

Spirit Halloween begins working toward opening a second store!

As shared in the original 2023 Spirit Halloween article, Spirit has been looking toward opening a second location in the former Bed Bath and Beyond on Rue Terre near Prairie Avenue (or north of the Frontier Mall.) As in, yes, there will be two Cheyenne locations for the 2023 Halloween season!

As seen in this WallieB26 video from 2022, it's not uncommon for Spirit Halloween to open two locations in the same city, sometimes even across the street from each other. There were even instances in Colorado where two stores would open in the same city. But for Cheyenne-a city that only recently crossed 65K residents-this may actually come as a surprise to some!

Upon visiting the location in the evening of August 3rd, a U-Haul truck could be seen out front of the old Bed Bath and Beyond, workers loading the truck up with remaining Bed Bath and Beyond fixtures. At the time, the location had already been added to the Spirit website, but it did not have any indication of when it would open.

Now, however, the Spirit website does indicate that the store will be opening in August. A banner has already been added to the store front, further indicating that-yes-Spirit Halloween will be opening in the space.

Ready to open! (Update 08/23)

As of about 12 PM MT on August 23rd, the Spirit Halloween website for Cheyenne still indicated that the Rue Terre location was opening in August. However, as of about 9:30 PM MT, the Rue Terre location's page had since been updated to show that the location opens at 11 AM tomorrow (August 24th).

Upon passing by the store front the night of August 23rd, there was no sign present to confirm the store would be open, but one could visibly see from a distance that the Cemetery theme was set up and ready to go; banners were posted outside the store, and hours were listed for the location.

Upon initially adding this update and sharing it in a recent Optopolis post on Facebook, a Facebook user who appears to have connection to the store mentioned the store had opened today, August 23rd. The user also noted that the store will open at 11 AM as seen on the Spirit website.
