CHEYENNE - BlendZ Wellness Bar has closed their doors. If you want health-oriented smoothies, you'll have to go somewhere else or make your own.

A glance at the building's history...

As mentioned previously, the building where BlendZ was located was noted to have originally been built in 1923 per the Laramie County Property Assessor's GIS map.

A detailed history of this building isn't known to Optopolis at this time; however, a City Directory from 1955 indicates that a place called "Handy Market" was present at 2110 Evans Avenue (the space next door to BlendZ which was at 2112 Evans Avenue). Google Maps Street View reveals that multiple tenants have occupied 2110 Evans Avenue, including Little Ol' Printshop as of 2007-2011, and Quorum Prosthetics starting in 2018.

Just north of Quorum Prosthetics at BlendZ: This space at 2112 Evans Avenue had previously been occupied by National Multiple Sclerosis Society, as well as Young Again Adult Daycare. In May 2023, BlendZ posted to their Facebook page that they planned to open in July, with plans to offer shakes, smoothies, coffees, and teas.

They opened on July 22nd, 2023, holding a Grand Opening event at that point. At the time, they noted that their new shop was a "sister shop" to Bison Nutrition and Energy (which previously closed in 2024); Bison Nutrition's space has since been replaced by Beach Please's third storefront.

BlendZ announces closure, shutters their shop

On June 11th, 2025, BlendZ announced that they would be closing their doors. Sara Gabriel, the owner of the shop, stated that, "this hasn't been an easy decision to make, but after months of debate, it is what we have decided is best for our family at this time." The post ends by saying, "Wishing you and your families all the best in the future. This isn't goodbye, it's see ya later."

On Sara's personal Facebook page, she detailed in a post from June 10th more of what was going on with her shop, mentioning how she had been considering the pros and cons of continuing operation with the end of the shop's lease coming up in July. Among her concerns include being there for her family, rising costs of products and overhead, and regarding the financial viability of the shop.

In a visit to the shop made here at Optopolis on June 18th, the shop had closed, and a sign on the door affirmed that the shop was closed. Furnishings could still be found inside, although Sara's personal Facebook page seems to indicate a desire to sell off the booths and some other furnishings from the cafe, as some of these items are now listed on Facebook MarketPlace.

Fortunately for smoothie, milkshake, and other beverage lovers, there are many alternatives in Cheyenne. Below are a few of these alternatives; note, this alphabetical list isn't all-encompassing.

It's unclear to Optopolis at this time what will come of the former BlendZ space on Evans Avenue, located just south of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. BlendZ would have turned two years old in mid-July 2025.
