New pizza place at the mall: WARNING FOR YOUTH

Dough Daddy's "Now Open" signage - Optopolis

If you missed having pizza at the mall, you can now once again get pizza at the mall! Located near the southwest entry to the mall, Dough Daddy Pizzeria & Mac is now open! There is some unfortunate baggage, more info contained in this article; it should serve as a public notice.

A glance at previous pizza places

Numerous pizza places over the years have occupied the space where Dough Daddy is now located in the Frontier Mall. So the story goes this space has pretty much always been some kind of pizza place. As far back as can be recalled here at Optopolis, there were at least two different pizza places at the Frontier Mall just within the last two decades.

The older of the two restaurants Optopolis vividly recalls was called Sbarro. It dates back to at least 2009 (it can be seen in one of the photos on a post from the Labelscar blog). Cheyenne's Sbarro closed sometime in the mid-2010s; Grateful Mike noted in an article on KGAB that the menus were being taken down around the start of 2014.

The more recent of the two pizza places recalled was named East Coast Pizza which opened in 2015 and had a grand opening celebration on September 25th, 2015 as noted in articles on both Y95 Country and 101.9 KING.FM. Cheyenne's East Coast Pizza seemed to have a pretty good thing going until coronah hit at the start of the current decade; it closed in early to mid-2020.

Dough Daddy opens

Dough Daddy Pizzeria & Mac, what appears to be a locally owned pizza restaurant, has opened in the former East Coast Pizza space. As the name suggests, Dough Daddy Pizzeria & Mac also serves mac & cheese although pizza is definitely their core vocal point.

According to a worker, they opened last Friday (placing their first day on Friday, May 12th). They have done a bit of cleaning up of the space including repainting the space to have a mostly green and black color scheme.

Looking at their menu boards, it appears that you can build your own "personal pizza" with the toppings of your choice. You can also get Mac & Cheese, and drinks are an option too.

A WARNING, especially for the youth

It turns out that in this case, the owner has some baggage. There's not a nice way of sharing this information, but it is necessary to give notice of this information.

Back around the turn of 2020 as shared on KGAB and other local outlets, the owner, Thomas Keetley, admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old employee when he himself was 28 years old.

"[He was sentenced to] 60 days in jail and five years of probation for the charge of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor." ~ KGAB

BizPedia also shows Thomas Keetley as owner of The Forge Cafe. Also, here's the profile on him that displays a photo.

Optopolis here. I think comments are slightly bugged out rn as it's not even wanting to switch to my Google Account. I heard from Standby that you'd shared some info about it, and I think it was your comment I saw in the Cheyenne Community Connections as well. It sounds like a crazy rabbit hole of a story there!

CHEYENNE WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous! In a mall? A family place where the youth hangs out? Why is it that this is allowed yet I assume he is a registered sex offender and cannot be near children, schools, ect SO WHY IN THE MALL!! This monster who did this unspeakable act shouldn't be in a mall serving the youth let alone anyone! He will not get my money I refuse to support a child sex offender PERIOD!!!!!!

How can he be allowed to open a business? Because it's America and he wasn't put in prison. If you have a problem with it, figure out who the judge was that did the sentencing and make sure he's not a judge anymore.
