Maverik replaces Kum & Go in Cheyenne

Image
Old Kum & Go/Go Fresh Market sign sits next to newly installed Maverik sign - Optopolis Maverik has rebranded the Cheyenne stores, and the Cheyenne-themed ampersand ("&") sculpture previously located at the Dell Range location has been saved. Maverik to retire Kum & Go, begins rebranding stores Maverik was set to only rebrand Kum & Go in the four main states where there was overlap between the two brands (in Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho), but they decided they want to retire Kum & Go entirely by 2025. This has been a point of mild controversy on the internet with some people saying they shouldn't rebrand any Kum & Go stores, others saying they should've stuck with the original plan to partially rebrand, and others yet saying they should retire Kum & Go entirely. In spite of the debate on the internet, Maverik has already long-since begun the rebrand process. Utah stores were rebranded to Maverik earlier this year. Kum & Go in t

Cheyenne's Absolute Flooring has closed

Image
Absolute Flooring, former Carpet Works, has recently closed. - Optopolis It appears Cheyenne's Absolute Flooring store, located in the Cheyenne Plaza near North College Drive and East Lincolnway, has closed. The signage is down, and the inside of the store is empty... well, except for Spirit Halloween supplies. A look at the history Cheyenne city directories from the years 1990 and 1994 display "Old America Store" at this location. The 1995 directory, however, lists Carpet Works as present inside one of the two suites that, at the time, now made up this larger space; the directory lists Carpet Works in space G2 and Sav-On in space G. On the contrary, Carpet Works filed with the state in April 1992. Carpet Works continued to operate until around the start of the 2010s. In a save from 2017 on the Wayback Machine , Absolute Flooring's website states that the business was established on October 1, 2011 by Lee and Nani Goepfert. The website says that Absolute Flooring was

(Barnes & Noble did reopen in Cheyenne, ultimately switching spots with Natural Grocers ). Asian Gift before it moved next door to JAX - Optopolis Comparing the mall map published in the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in 1981 to the present day mall map, space 95 was once assigned a much different number--space 77. A glance at Mi Tierra's history and announcement of a new location It appears Mi Tierra's roots date back to at least the 2010s, located on Dell Range Boulevard nearer to Yellowstone Road--sharing the building that C-Mart currently occupies. Mi Tierra shares this building with C-Mart. There used to be Cenex gas pumps at this location, but the pumps were removed many years ago. - Optopolis In 2021, Mi Tierra was in the process of opening a second location on Stillwater Avenue in the Greenway Commons Plaza, roughly one mile away from their Dell Range Boulevard location. This location is no longer affiliated with Mi Tierra on East Lincolnway, although Mi Tierra on E Lincolnway states that they still use the Mi Tierra branding and Mi Tierra recipes.
