WYOgrown open, offers microGREENS and THINGS

WYOgrown microGREENS & THINGS is now open at 113 E 17th St - Optopolis Formerly occupied by Ruby Juice, WYOgrown microGREENS & THINGS softly opened last Friday and plans to soon have a grand opening, likely at some point over the next two to three weeks. Historical glance As previously shared , Ruby Juice, a locally owned smoothie/sandwich shop, opened in the early to mid-2000s. The building in which Ruby Juice resided was noted as built in approximately 1924 in the Laramie County Property Assessor GIS map. The former Ruby Juice store front - Optopolis All the history of this building on East 17th Street is still vastly unknown here at Optopolis as of yet, but it's worth noting that the city directory from 1994 displays a place called Mossholders present at the address of the now-former Ruby Juice. A bit of history: Skippers, TCBY, Bagelmakers, Subway The building in which Inta Juice and Subway reside is noted in the property assessor as built in 1988. City directories indicate that the building was likely originally occupied by Skipper's Seafood and Chowder House. The directories no longer listed this Skipper's location as of the mid 90s, and nowadays, Skipper's is mostly located in the northwestern United States. An open Skipper's location in Silverdale, WA. Bourbon Street Candy Co before recently closing to relocate next door - Optopolis Bourbon Street Candy Co is moving next door from its recent space at the Frontier Mall and plans to have a grand re-opening next door on Friday, May 17th, 2024. A look at Bourbon Street Candy Co's history Bourbon Street Candy Co has been a tenant at the Frontier Mall for well over two decades. The shop has had a core focus on candy and fudge, although they also have stuffed animals available. It would appear Maurice's expansion initially had the shop planning to close permanently in 2014 , but that's not what happened! Remodel of Arby's Yellowstone Rd continues

These old Arby's signs are slated to be updated with modern logos/signs. - Optopolis Last year, Arby's on Yellowstone Rd was in the process of starting to remodel the store , and now in May 2024, they are actively continuing the remodel, particularly in the dining room. As such, the dining room is temporarily closed. Recent events and a history refresh As previously discussed, the building where this Arby's resides dates back to approximately 1996, and the building was noted to have had a small add-on to the front in 2003, all according to the property assessor. Around November 2023, initial remodel was underway. Work at the time mainly included taking down the old Arby's signage on the building; repainting the building to the red, white, and brown color scheme; and repairing/rebuilding the sidewalk and gutter along Yellowstone Road. La Mekicana is now open at the Frontier Mall! - Optopolis A new western-themed clothing shop, La Mekicana LLC, opened yesterday at Frontier Mall! They offer everything from boots and men's western wear to quinceaƱera and prom dresses! Historical perspective: Christopher & Banks/Daily Thread La Mekicana's space was most recently "permanently" occupied by Daily Thread . Daily Thread opened in late February 2023; a few months later after a rapid expansion throughout the United States, many Daily Thread locations permanently closed including the Cheyenne location . Christopher & Banks logo seen in the wooden-laminate floor after Daily Thread closed - Optopolis Throughout the 2000s and prior to Daily Thread, space 88 was occupied by Christopher & Banks, but Christopher & Banks closed on February 27th, 2021 due to their bankruptcy . It is known here at Optopolis that Christopher & Banks wasn't the original tenant of this space although other p

Sephora Opens Soon sign at Kohl's - Optopolis Sephora is set to return to Cheyenne, but it's coming to Kohl's this time! The new Sephora store is set to open later this month. Previous events: Sephora, JCPenney, and early days at Kohl's Back in 2006 , JCPenney and Sephora teamed together in a partnership that would allow Sephora to begin opening cosmetic shops inside of JCPenney stores. The goal, as noted by NBC News, was to "erase [JCPenney's] image as a dowdy middle-market department store operator." Sephora seen when it was open at JCPenney - Optopolis In Cheyenne, Sephora didn't open in JCPenney as soon as other locations opened. The Cheyenne Permits and Planning website includes permits submitted in mid to late 2017 which include a call for a Sephora to be built inside of JCPenney. rue21 sign above entry to Cheyenne store - Optopolis Apparel store rue21 has filed for bankruptcy for the third time, and with the filing, they announced that they'd be closing all their stores. This means Cheyenne's rue21 at Frontier Mall is about to shutter. A look at the history Rue21 first appeared in the Frontier Mall directory around early 2007 , opening in the space across the hall from the pizza joint called Sbarro (now occupied by Camp Kitchen ). Various archives of the Frontier Mall directory indicate that rue21 replaced a space once occupied by an apparel store called Vanity. By the time Cheyenne's rue21 opened, rue21's first bankruptcy filing in 2003 had already long ago taken place.
