Camp Kitchen opening at Frontier Mall!

A brand new business called Camp Kitchen has recently been announced to open at the Frontier Mall. It plans to offer freeze dried and dehydrated foods that can be good on trips! You may already be familiar with the owners of the business as the owners are the same ones that run Current's Custom LLC.

History of the space

There is a lot of history of this space that could be talked about. Many tenants have occupied the space over the years... And, no, it was not "always a pizza place," as a photo dated pre-2000 confirms that the space was once occupied by Stork & Cradle, a baby furniture store.

In the last couple decades however, the space has been occupied by a pizza restaurant. Sbarro closed in the early 2010s, sometime after JoAnn's 2011 comeback. East Coast Pizza opened in 2015 in the former Sbarro, only to close in early to mid-2020. In May 2023, a local pizza restaurant opened at the location, but it closed by or before October 2023.

Camp Kitchen is announced to open!

By mid-February 2024, a new coming soon sign could be seen posted in the window of the former pizza restaurant. It indicated that a new business called Camp Kitchen would be coming to this space!

During the week of April 21st, the exterior of the space received a paint job. The interior would also be repainted as noted in a Facebook post created by Sunrise Painting, embedded below. This post revealed some very interesting information!

It turns out that the business is owned by the same people who run Current's Custom LLC as confirmed in communication via their email. They were previously set up at the Cheyenne Farmers Market in September 2023.

Further insight was revealed in an article from Wyoming Tribune Eagle posted on April 3rd. WTE shared that Camp Kitchen plans to offer "dehydrated and freeze-dried foods" intended to be taken while "camping or on long trips." This includes everything from fruit, nuts, and cheese to bread, paninis, and granola.

Wyoming Tribune Eagle also mentioned that Camp Kitchen is set to open in mid-April although they did not mention a specific date. Also, Camp Kitchen has already been added to the Frontier Mall directory. If and when further information comes available, this article will likely be updated.

UPDATE 04-12: Now open with more to come!

Today, April 12th, Camp Kitchen opened for the first time. Starting out, their options are a little limited, but they have plans to expand the menu over the coming weeks and months. Workers shared that right now, they have Paninis and Arepas. Beverages and snack-sized bags of chips are also available.

The owner of the shop shared with Optopolis that they currently aim to have dehydrated and freeze-dried foods (as well as other foods) available sometime over, roughly, the next month or so.

To be more specific, for now, their menu specifically includes the following items, which again, the menu is expected to be expanded with other foods in the coming weeks.

The new business is located directly next to Kay Jewelers, which is near the southwest entryway to the Frontier Mall.
