A while back, demolition was taking place at the last standing former A&W Root Beer here in Cheyenne. The property is in the process of being transformed into a Gentle Touch Dental location!
A quick refresh on the property's history
As mentioned in the original Optopolis A&W Root Beer article, the building located at 1110 S Greeley Hwy just a property away from the Cheyenne Greenway was built (according to the property assessor) in 1955. A King FM Article mentioned the building was previously occupied by Nifty Fifties. Several people in the comments sections of posts of the original article recalled several other tenants using this space over the years as well. Google Maps Street View revealed that the space was vacant since at least 2007.

Demolition of the former drive-in restaurant was already beginning to take place as of July 1st, 2022. The building had been fully removed from the property by the first week of August 2022. During the same time frame, one could find a "project" item in the county planning website classed as a Pre-Application Meeting and submitted 05/25/2022 that confirmed a new dentistry was in the works for the property.

As of February 12th, 2023, the foundation for the new dentistry had already been laid and the framework for the building was also being built; a sign on the temporary fencing revealed that the location would be called Gentle Touch Dental South.

Now as of April 2023, the building is nearing completion with walls going up around the building. The most recent item submitted to the county planning website is a permit for the building sign that, as mentioned in the "PLANS APPROVED" document, will use "flat cut aluminum letters."

An article found on Yahoo!news written by Will Carpenter confirms that this location will be a second location in addition to the existing and original Downtown Gentle Touch Dental. The article also mentions that the new location is scheduled to be completed in October.
