Party America has moved. It's not closed!

After many years at the old location, Cheyenne's Party America store has moved to a new location! It is still in the same vicinity, but in a new space.
A glance at the history
According to the property assessor, the building which housed the previous location of Party America (not to be confused with an unaffiliated brand known as Party City) was built in 1983.

Permits available in the Cheyenne City Planning website indicate that Party America had presence at the location since at least 2010 (signage permits were submitted early that year), and their Facebook page has also been active since 2010. At this time, it's not entirely clear here at Optopolis what (if anything) was in the space before Party America. One can find a reasonable amount of photos of this space on their Facebook page, such as this photo.
They announced relocation... and an emergency.
After being present at the old location for over a decade, Party America moved to what was previously Cheyenne's Sears Hometown. Sears Hometown was quite short lived; that store opened around the start of 2022 in the space next to Absolute Flooring only to announce in May 2022 that it was set to close (as reported here at Optopolis).
Many years before Sears Hometown--back when Cheyenne's second Walmart location was being built--the space was used for a Walmart Recruitment Center.

Returning to recent times, the new Party America location had opened by January 2023. Unfortunately, they had a family emergency where two relatives had passed away which resulted in temporary closure around late January (Optopolis gives his condolences). This was confirmed by signage still seen on January 22nd at the new store front.

After once again reopening, they had posted new info to their Facebook Page (as pictured below), further confirming that they indeed had relocated to a new space.

Since the time of the above Facebook post and based on the information in the Cheyenne City Planning website, the permits for moving the signage have already been approved, and sometime over the last two weeks, the front side's signage had been relocated. A new tenant is already working towards occupying the old space (more info coming in a future article).
