Scooter's Coffee is coming after all (to Cheyenne)

Scooter's Coffee is actively in the works of building their first Cheyenne location on the south end of town! Here's where on South Greeley Hwy and the current status of the site! (plus an update as of May 24th!)

A glance into the history

Scooter's Coffee, not to be confused with Scooter's Bar and Packaged Liquor, was originally planning to build a location near the corner of Dell Range Blvd and N College Dr next to the Dell Range Pediatrics building; plans were submitted back in mid-2021 to the Cheyenne City Planning website. However, nothing coalesced at that location, and all the permits listed in the website have long since expired including the "Restaurant/Bars New" building permit that expired in January 2023.

Starting mid-2022, permits began appearing in the Laramie County Planning website for a new Scooter's Coffee on the other end of town at what was then one of two locations for Fireworks Outlet ft. Black Cat.

The fireworks stand's building was built in 1960 according to the property assessor, with an expansion displayed on the building sketch dated with the year 2000.

According to Fireworks Outlet's website and based on past saves of the website listed in the Wayback Machine, this location closed permanently around early to mid-2022, leaving only one other location remaining near Terry Ranch Rd.

Demolition, new plans submitted for Scooter's

Very late in the month last December, demolition of the fireworks stand took place, as seen in part in this YouTube short embedded below.

On January 23rd, 2023, new plans were submitted to the city planning website for a, "New construction of [a] 662 [square foot Scooter's Coffee] Drive-Thru Kiosk." As of right now according to Scooter's Coffee's locater, the only Wyoming location is located in Casper, and the nearest location to Cheyenne is located in Eaton, Colorado.

Based on the site plans dated 06/17/22 and submitted to the Laramie County Planning website, the kiosk is set to be focused on drive-thru traffic; it will use a similar drive-thru concept often seen at McDonald's and Chick Fil A locations, where there are two speakers used for ordering and one window for pickup.

When passing by on February 26th, foundations for the new building were already built and what appeared to be the frame for one of the walls was lying next to the foundation. In the afternoon of March 7th, one could see that the frame was up, and the walls were starting to be added to the new building. As of yet, it doesn't appear the location has been added to Scooter's website.

Scooter's Coffee is NOW OPEN!

As of last night (May 23rd)/early this morning (May 24th) the building was completely finished being built and looking sharp! The signs were lit up and clear from the road that opening day would be any time now.

Previously, Tori Robertson Manning, apparently the owner of the Cheyenne location, created a post in Cheyenne Community Together on Facebook stating that the Cheyenne store would be softly opening on May 24th. A phone call to the Cheyenne location in the afternoon of May 24th revealed that, indeed, May 24th was the first day.

Tori's post also mentions a grand opening to occur on Friday, June 9th; according to Tori, customers will be able to buy one drink, get one free when using the Scooter's Coffee mobile app. You can also find a video of a part of the first day posted on her profile.
