Wingstop is about to open in Cheyenne!

In early December 2022, it was noticed here at Optopolis that something was happening at the former Starbuck's in the Dell Range Marketplace. Turns out it is going to become a Wingstop!

The space's history as Starbuck's

The space where Wingstop is set to opening was once a Starbuck's Coffee! Starbuck's was most likely original to its space; the plaza was built in the year 2000; thanks to StarbucksEverywhere.net, one can see that this Starbuck's was open by the year 2001.

This Starbuck's location closed in 2017 to move to a new location near the corner of Dell Range Blvd and Windmill Rd. They demolished DT's Car Wash for the new drive thru location, which is still open today!

Since the shuttering of the old location, the space has remained vacant... that is, until now.

Wingstop begins plans for their first Wyoming location

Around the start of December 2022, the coverings on the windows were removed, suggesting something was happening with the former Starbuck's space. By January, work on the space to turn it into a Wingstop was already underway with signage going up on the building and Town Square Media's Phylicia Peterson doing a story on it.

Now as of late March, the space is super close to having the remodel/renovation complete! One can currently see tables and a soda machine all set up and ready in the space. In the evening of March 23rd, one could see some electrical work being done around the order counter.

This location is clearly not too far from opening. A visit made on March 26th revealed the store wasn't open, but it appears it could open any minute if it really wanted. At this time, their website doesn't display an opening date on the Cheyenne location.

The place marker on Google Maps does currently display an opening date, but as anyone who uses Google Maps regularly would know, you must take information displayed on Google Maps with no more than a grain of salt since the information presented can and may be wrong or inaccurate.

If new information comes available with more certainty on the opening date, this article will be updated to reflect that.

Update 03-30: Not open yet... But almost there.

After several people's insistent messages that Google Maps was correct about the opening day; Google Maps claiming that Wingstop would open on Thursday, March 30th; it was totally worth making it a point to visit and see that, indeed, the restaurant wasn't yet open. That being said, opening day appears to be even closer now than ever before.

When stopping by the space, asking someone who at the time, was inside the restaurant revealed that there is desire to open sometime over the next few days. The Google Maps listing has changed since the initial posting of this article, displaying the following information (as of Thursday, March 30th):

Tuesday - Closed
Wednesday - 11 AM-11 PM

Time will tell if Google Maps does display the correct information this time (obviously one should probably still trust it as much as you trust a wiki), but at the least, the listing now does seem more realistic given the information provided during the visit on the 30th of March.

Update 04-07: Opens later today

As of yesterday the 6th, the Google listing was updated to show the store closed until Friday (today the 7th). Workers present in the early afternoon said they were not opening until five.

Upon stopping by at 5 PM MT, a worker who came to the door said they were still waiting for the meat and would wait about another 30 minutes to open officially (putting the official open time at about 5:30 PM MT).

As of the time of writing this update, the store is now open for business! Their hours from here on are as follows:

Open 7 days a week

11 AM till midnight
