CHEYENNE - Cheba Hut, a "toasted" subs sandwich chain based out of Fort Collins, has been remodeling the former Cheyenne Dog Haus Biergarten, and the new Cheyenne location plans to open at the end of June 2025.

Ohhhhh yeah,... Dog Haus... In multiple previous articles here at Optopolis, the topic of Dog Haus has been well discussed. To make a long story short and simple, Cheyenne's Dog Haus Biergarten opened around the end of January 2020. Its original owners (Goalz LLC) shuttered the location in early 2023, then new owners (FAFO Restaurant Group) reopened the restaurant in June 2023... only for it to close once again in late 2024, at which point, the building was put on the market as 'for lease.'

Among the reasons for the twice-closure of Dog Haus, both owners had allegations of mismanagement; the latter owner, FAFO Restaurant Group, may have found out the hard way, as the topic was discussed by Jared Gendron of Cap City News. It's not clear to Optopolis at this time if Dog Haus will ever try to open a new location in Cheyenne.
Cheba Hut begins the process of opening! - In December 2024 not long after Dog Haus' closure, Optopolis and other local news outlets discovered that a "Coming Soon!! Cheba Hut" banner had been hung inside the window of the former Dog Haus, indicating that Cheba Hut had plans to expand to Wyoming for the first time.

Cheba Hut is well known for their subs as well as the cannabis-and-munchies-theming of their restaurants. No, however, their food does not contain any of that sweet Mary Jane.
Remodel has begun.
By early February 2025, the Dog Haus-themed tables and benches inside of the building had been removed. Site plans found in the demolition permit, application # BP-25-00807, indicate that the overall layout of the facility will not be changing drastically, but Cheba Hut will be adding many of their own fixtures (including tables and seating) among other aspects to the building.

The patio will also remain intact, although the site plans indicate that the table tops will be replaced with new ones. Multiple aspects of the interior and exterior, including the bar area and the Dog Haus building signage, are anticipated to be demolished, modified, or removed, though Cheba Hut does and will have some alcoholic beverages available.
Cheba Hut is currently set to open in late June.
Cheba Hut has been in the process of preparing the former Dog Haus space for their new Cheyenne restaurant, also their first Wyoming location. Cap City News' Klark Byrd reported that, recently, the, "City Council approved the Bar & Grill liquor license application for Frontier Daze LLC, doing business as Cheba Hut."

Update 06-27: Opens JUNE 30TH!
Cheba Hut will officially open to the public on Saturday, June 30th. To clear up confusion for those looking at the Cheyenne location's website within about the last 12 to 24 hours, Cheba Hut will be having a soft opening that will serve as a friends/family event, not as an official public opening. Optopolis confirmed this information with the Cheyenne Cheba Hut Staff.

According to a recent article written by Cap City News' Staff, Cheyenne's Cheba Hut is reportedly the 78th systemwide location for the brand. It's noted that Wyoming residents have frequently traveled across state lines to visit Cheba Hut, and the Cheyenne store serves as a regional, brand-owned flagship location. The new location features Cheyenne-inspired art created by muralist Jordan Dean, as well as a giant boot crafted from Rice Krispies treats.
A recent visit made by Optopolis showed a nice sneak peak at what the restaurant will look like now that Cheba Hut is taking over the building. The rice krispies boot can be seen as you walk inside the front door (or from outside the restaurant when presented with the proper lighting). The murals can be seen around the restaurant, but especially on the wall facing the outdoor patio.
Cap City News' report confirms that Cheyenne's Cheba Hut will be open during the following hours, starting on June 30th:
- Sun - Thu, 10 AM to 10 PM
- Fri - Sat, 10 AM to Midnight
