CHEYENNE - Parkway Pizza, a local pizza restaurant in Cheyenne Plaza along East Lincolnway, is closing its doors on November 9th, 2025 due to the apparent health issues of the owner and rising cost of food.
Note: Cheyenne's Parkway Pizza 307 is not to be confused with a small Minnesota-based chain, a Littleton restaurant, and other restaurants that share the same (or a similar) name.
A glance at the history
Long ago, Cheyenne residents may recall that Parkway Pizza used to be located in Frontier Mall. It operated at the same storefront that was most recently occupied by Camp Kitchen (now closed). Although exact dates aren't currently known to Optopolis, it eventually moved to Cheyenne Plaza next door to present-day Sportsman's Warehouse.

At least twice, Parkway Pizza has changed hands. The Wyoming Business website displays a filing with the name, Parkway Pizza (filed in 1997 and whose applicant was Mondello Corp.) which went inactive in 2007. In 2014, a new filing with the same name was filed by Weiss Pizza Corporation; in February 2024, Weiss filed for a renewal of the filing before selling the shop to a new owner by or before May 2024.
In May 2024, Parkway Pizza announced on Facebook that Christopher Thompson was taking over ownership of the restaurant. A photo from the restaurant confirms that the restaurant reopened in mid-May 2024, and the new business was filed in the following August with the name, "Parkway Pizza 307."

Initially, things seemed to be going well based on numerous posts on social media from various customers in mid to late 2024, as well as a Facebook post from Parkway Pizza dated January 2nd, 2025; a comment on Parkway's post from Parkway themselves went so far as to say, "The previous owner [of Parkway Pizza] treated everyone like trash!" Prior to the most recent change in ownership, there had been many complaints of the restaurant which--in the beginning of new ownership by Thompson, seemed to fall mostly by the wayside as service apparently improved.
Parkway Pizza has been facing many struggles
In recent months, customers have been complaining on Facebook of new problems at Parkway Pizza. For instance, one individual just posted a photo of a pizza that appeared to have had a slice inserted into their pizza pie from a different pie, noting that the out-of-place slice was cold compared to the rest of their pie. Several individuals have complained about pests and/or pest droppings present at the restaurant, and it appears these concerns aren't entirely unfounded.
According to a health report from the Laramie County Public Health division dated June 2025, an employee was observed vaping in the back area (critical, corrected on-site), a mouse was found to be hiding under a counter area (critical), issues with utensil storage and possible cross-contamination (non critical, corrected on-site), among other non-critical issues including general cleanliness of the facility.
A previous report from March 2025 included problems with proper reheating procedures for hot holding, proper hot holding temperatures, proper cold holding temperatures, a lack of record-keeping in regard to times of pizza and garlic knots as to throw them out after four hours, mouse droppings found, as well as other non-critical items. It also noted issues with overall cleanliness and indicated that some existing issues had not been corrected since the last inspection.
At least some of these issues also appeared in the December 2024 report.
➥[Rising costs, owner's health issues]
At the start of September 2025, Thompson created a GoFundMe page in an effort to gain funding to keep the shop operating. He states on the donation page that they've faced challenges never before imagined including, "rising costs, unexpected expenses, and the aftermath of tough economic times." The description goes on to say that they needed to raise $70,000 to keep the restaurant going, though the initial goal was set to 5,500 dollars; to-date, only $50 was raised directly through the GoFundMe.
On October 30th, Parkway Pizza posted to Facebook that the business was put for sale due to the owner having apparent health issues.
Parkway Pizza announces last day of operation, November 9th
On November 5th, a few days after announcing that the business is for sale, Parkway Pizza announced on Facebook that they will be closing the restaurant on November 9th due to unforeseen health issues of the owner and the continued rise in the cost of food.
