CHEYENNE - Last Friday (August 15th), a new candy shop called, "Mexican Candy's," opened at Frontier Mall at the former Dulces Cuh/Journey's space. "Mexican Candy's" offers Mexican-themed candy and snacks; it's relatively similar to Dulces Cuh.
Note that the new shop, "Mexican Candy's," has no direct relation to Dulces Cuh, even though it offers many similar products.
A glance at recent events
It was recently reported here at Optopolis that Dulces Cuh Mexican Candy closed at the end of June 2025. Prior to the closure, reportedly and according to Wyoming Tribune Eagle, the owner of Dulces Cuh stated the Cheyenne store wasn't announced to close, directly contradicting information posted to Facebook by an individual with connection to the Cheyenne store.

Further history details were discussed in the last article on this topic, but prior to Dulces Cuh's Cheyenne store, this space was occupied by Journey's, a clothing store. Optopolis has confirmed that, as of early August 2025, Broomfield's Dulces Cuh (Flatiron Crossing) is still in operation.
New store called "Mexican Candy's" opens
Sometime on Friday, August 15th, "Mexican Candy's" opened up shop at Frontier Mall. It's a small yet important detail to clarify that the people behind the shop, "Mexican Candy's," are otherwise unrelated to the recent tenancy; the new Mexican Candy's shop was opened by the owner of La Mekicana, a Mexican and Western-themed clothing store that expanded to Cheyenne back in 2024. La Mekicana is still open today!

During Optopolis' visit on the first day, the owner of La Mekicana was providing free samples to customers of some of the treats featured in the shop. Although the shop places an emphasis on Mexican candy, other Mexican snack-style treats are available here. Among those snacks that Optopolis noticed include Cintaroos (gummy strips of sour candy), galletas animalitos (animal crackers), and paletón de cajeta (a lollipop made of goats milk with a subtle caramel-flavor), various chips/crisps, nuts and pistachios, and even Coca-Cola in glass bottles.
Although some items recognizable by Americans (in part, seen below) are available such as those packages of assorted candies (including M&M's and Twizzlers), Lay's BBQ chips, and Cheeto's--many if not most items are genuine Mexican Products which you may find at stores in Mexico.

The progression of setting up shop was rather quick when compared to other recent retail projects in Cheyenne; as of July 26th, the shop appeared to be void of most fixtures and all products seen inside of Dulces Cuh. On August 12th, Optopolis observed items being hauled into the store, and a black covering blocked the view of the interior of the store. And on August 15th, the shop was up and running. According to a worker who answered the phone at the Cheyenne La Mekicana, the hours of the Mexican Candy's store are the same as mall hours: Monday to Saturday at 10 AM to 8 PM and Sunday at 12 PM to 6 PM.
