CHEYENNE - Cost Cutters has abruptly closed their Cheyenne salon, and the space is now vacant. Customers of theirs will likely be finding a new salon to visit... unless they are willing to travel outside of Wyoming to visit another Cost Cutters.
A glimpse at the history
Cost Cutters once had at least another location in Cheyenne, located in Cheyenne Plaza off of East Lincolnway. That location is long gone, however, and Murdoch's has since expanded their store into both the former Cost Cutters and former Verizon spaces. Update 04-10: There was also a location on the south-side of Cheyenne, two doors down from Silvermine Subs and close to the Safeway gas station.
As for the Dell Range Cost Cutters location, city directories indicate
that, as of 1988, a business called "The Drug Store" was located at 1740
Dell Range Boulevard, Suite F; in 1990, the space was labeled as
vacant; and by 1994, Cost Cutters was occupying Suite F in the plaza
that is currently known as Frontier Square.

Cost Cutters has closed
In the morning of February 6th, 2025, Optopolis observed a crew in the process of taking down the Cost Cutters sign above the entry to the store. Store hours and other information displayed in the front door had already been removed.

Taking a closer look later in the day of February 6th, the Cost Cutters space was discovered by Optopolis to be completely vacated. Aside from a few counters, mirrors, walls, and other grounded fixtures, many of the furnishings and computer systems appeared to have been removed from the space. No salon chairs were visible in the main section of the store.
No new info apparent to Optopolis as of April 10th, 2025
As of the time of writing, it's been at least two months since the Cheyenne Cost Cutters closed, and the Cheyenne salon is still listed on Cost Cutter's website even though visitors to Frontier Square can clearly see that Cheyenne's location is vacant.

The last post made on the Frontier Square Cost Cutters Facebook page was posted on March 7th, and it stated, "Jackie at our Great Falls salon is an artist." The post before that was published on January 27th, and it included a graphic that reads, "Give your locks some TLC," with the text prompt reading, "Your hair will thank you." Update 4-10: After this article was written, two additional Facebook posts were created on the Cheyenne location's page, both of which are apparent advertisements for their services.
It's not currently clear to Optopolis when, down to exactly which day, the Cheyenne location closed--or why.
