The Picklr has officially opened its doors at the old, long-since-former Big Lots in Cheyenne Plaza on East Lincolnway, and they will hold a Grand Opening Celebration on January 11th.
What's pickleball?
Pickleball is similar to tennis, but it typically uses hollow, plastic balls; smaller, ping-pong-paddle-like rackets; slightly smaller nets; and smaller courts. For details on the basics of how to play, here is an article from Henry Ford Health that discusses some 101.

The Picklr is a chain of pickleball facilities that puts emphasis on membership access, although the Cheyenne location told Optopolis that one can pay a single-time fee to use their pickleball facilities. Since late last year in 2024, The Picklr has been actively renovating their then-soon-to-be first Wyoming location which is located in Cheyenne.

In early December, Cheyenne's The Picklr held an open house during which visitors could get a sneak peak into the new facility amid the renovation process. Although Optopolis was unable to make a visit during the open house, Cap City's Stew Dyer made a visit during the event and shared some information as well as photos of the new facility.
Stew explains that the "Pardon Our Dust" open house event took place on Saturday, December 14th, 2023; the facility was expected to open on January 4th, 2025, and the grand opening was planned for January 10th, 2025 to January 12th, 2025.
