JAX is closing, Bomgaars coming soon

JAX sign seen on the Frontier Mall location near Christmas time, 2024 - Optopolis After five years in Cheyenne, JAX Outdoor Gear, Farm and Ranch will be closing their Cheyenne store, set to be replaced by Bomgaars, another similar store that already has locations in Wyoming. Historical glimpse JAX Outdoor Gear; a company that has ties to both Fort Collins, Colorado and Ames, Iowa; was in the process of expanding to Cheyenne's Frontier Mall in the late 2010s, set to softly open before the end of 2019. Their doors opened on November 22nd, 2019, taking over the former Sears at 1400 Dell Range Boulevard. This became JAX's first store to be inside a shopping mall, as all other locations were either self-standing suburban-style stores or located in Downtown Fort Collins. EHC Hair Salon moving to Frontier Mall

They'll soon occupy the former SuperCuts space next to JCPenney, and EHC will open before Thanksgiving--on November 27th! Glimpse at the history of EHC and SuperCuts According to the Wyoming Business website , Lali Pop Wig Shop and Ethnic Hair Care is a business owned by Leanya M Gunn; the business was initially filed on May 23rd, 2017, and recently, it has been located in Downtown Cheyenne along Capitol Avenue. As of the time of Google Maps Street View captured in July 2017 , EHC had already been located next door to KFBC Radio (AM 1240/97.5 FM) along Capitol Avenue at West 18th Street. EHC's website says that the owner is a, "California-raised, black entrepreneur who lives by the theory of F.E.A.R. (Face Everything And Rise)." Dog Haus closed again, and is for lease

Dog Haus Biergarten's sign above the front door of the building, seen in 2023 - Optopolis Dog Haus Biergarten appears to have closed for the foreseeable future--again. The building is now for lease, and Dog Haus lists the location as temporarily closed in spite of "closed for maintenance" signs posted at the entry doors. Glimpse of the history Dog Haus Biergarten was one of the first few tenants to open in Pershing Marketplace with the building going up in 2019 ; back then, it was operated by Goalz LLC who also then-operated Church's Chicken in Cheyenne. Dog Haus became the first place in Pershing Marketplace to close up shop, closing in March 2023 . Dog Haus was able to find new ownership for the Cheyenne Biergarten, and the new franchisee was later revealed to be FAFO Restaurant Group LLC. They held a soft opening primarily for the workers' friends and family on June 25th, then opened to the general public on June 26th. US Dept. of Labor seeks court order again...

Hot dogs (and more) - The Food Shack moved to Menards!

The Food Shack was previously set up in front of The Home Depot, but they were reportedly struggling to maintain a stream of customers at the old location; now at the new location, things seem to be going better. History of the shack, including Weenie Wrangler & BorderDogs The little shack that currently houses The Food Shack was previously located in front of Cheyenne's The Home Depot between the main entry and the exit near the appliance department. In the 2010s, the shack was called Weenie Wrangler Hot Dog Stand , and it was even featured in a People magazine. A post on their Facebook page indicates that Weenie Wrangler had been " slinging weenies since 2013. " They expanded in 2018 to " The Weenie Wrangler II ," their second food cart ...
