Wyoming Ranch Foods in Cheyenne is now closed.

Wyoming Ranch Foods' former Cheyenne location seen in December 2023 - Optopolis

This one came as a little surprise, but after a phone call to the Torrington store, it is true. The Cheyenne WRF location is closed. If you want to visit Wyoming Ranch Foods, you'll probably have to go to Torrington.

A glance at the history of the building

As shared in the last article on this topic, the building has some interesting history behind it. Last year in May, they were setting up shop in a building on E 19th St near Warren Avenue.

The building was noted in the Laramie County Property Assessor as built in (approximately) 1947. Google Maps Street View confirms that a business called Pony X-Press Printing Center was occupying the space between the years 2007 and 2011.

Minuteman Press was present in the building for part of the 2010s, but they relocated to the Tripoli Square Plaza on South Greeley Highway.

Winters Griffith Architects submitted plans in 2021 to renovate the space for their own offices and a TBA space for some other tenant that would later become Wyoming Ranch Foods.

Wyoming Ranch Foods was aiming to open by June 2022 as mentioned by WRF on one of their Facebook posts, and they had already opened by August 2022. This was roughly a year after they opened their Torrington store.

WRF closes the Cheyenne store

Sometime in 2023 between July (as confirmed by a Facebook post from the.sour.cowboy) and October (noted by WRF as closed in the comments of this Facebook Post), the Cheyenne store had closed.

A phone call to the Torrington store confirmed that the Torrington store was still open and also that the Cheyenne store had closed. When asked, the person on the line affirmed that the store had condensed down to the Torrington store.

As of the time of writing, the store list on their website still displays the Cheyenne store; however, it clarifies that the Douglas store "is currently available for delivery only at this time." Google Maps lists the Cheyenne store as permanently closed, while it lists the Douglas location and the Torrington store as open.

"Wyoming Ranch Foods is no longer here" sign posted in front door - Optopolis

A sign (seen in photo above) posted in the door to the space read the following:

Sorry, Wyoming Ranch Foods is no longer here but we hope to announce a new meat shop tenant very soon.

With the space now vacant, the space is once again available for a new tenant. Upon asking Architect Jamie Winters of Winters Griffith Architects, he said to simply contact him if you are interested in the space. You can reach Jamie at the phone number (307) 632-2705 or via email jamie@wintersgriffith.com.

What would you like to see come into their old space in the future? Let us know your thoughts of this closure in the comments below!
