Crumbl Cookies: first Cheyenne store is coming soon!

Crumbl Cookies sign hangs on the soon-to-be Crumbl Cookies space - Optopolis If you've visited the Frontier Mall recently and passed by the northwest mall entry, you may have noticed a new sign at the former AT&T space! Previous history of the space Longtime residents of Cheyenne will likely remember when this entire space - Sleep Number, AT&T, Dickey's BBQ Pit, and Five Guys Burgers and Fries - were all a part of Cheyenne's Old Country Buffet. Although it's not currently clear here at Optopolis if Country Buffet was original to this space at the Frontier Mall, it is known that Country Buffet was here for many, many years. Country Buffet when it was still open, as seen in 2011 - Google Maps Street View Unfortunately, it was around the turn of the 2010 decade that things for Country Buffet (and other associated buffet restaurants such as Ryan's Buffet and Hometown Buffet) began falling apart. Ziggi's Coffee Drive Thru sign as seen on the existing Yellowstone Rd location - Optopolis Site plans for a new Ziggi's Coffee have been submitted at what was previously the Stag Oil Co. on the corner of Pershing Boulevard and Airport Parkway. The property in a historical sense You may recall the article here at Optopolis on Cheyenne's second Chase Bank location taking over the Stag Convenience Corner on Yellowstone road ; that station has a direct connection to the Stag Oil Co. that once stood at this location along Pershing Blvd. It was owned by the same person - James R. Fleenor of Stag Enterprises; Fleenor passed away in 2014. Although the pictures in the property assessor for the Stag Oil Co. are long gone, the build date is still listed, showing the year 1972. As of 2011, it was still operating; however, it closed and was demolished by the year 2018. The building is now in the process of getting replaced once again! Some background The Pershing Blvd Montgomery Ward building was built in the year 1964 according to the property assessor. Archived photos confirm that Montgomery Ward once occupied a building in Downtown Cheyenne that today is the 17th and Central Executive Suites, and that older building was built in 1924 according to the property assessor. Dell Range Garden Center catches on Fire

Smoke still billowing from the Mc Intyre building as of 6:26 PM MDT - Optopolis Around 6:15 PM MDT on July 12th 2022, a fire was reported over the scanners at the former Mc Intyre's Garden Center on Dell Range Blvd! To clear up some confusion, the referenced building is located just east of the Key Explorer's Preschool that previously took over the former Building Blocks, also former IBMC. Some History According to the property assessor, the building that caught fire was built in 1982, and it also received an approx. 400 sqr feet expansion in 1984. Although at this time, very little else is known about the history of the building, it is known that the building was occupied by a nursery called Mc Intyre's Garden Center as confirmed by US-Garden . New tenant has come to the Grier building!

Grier building when Dillinger's was Vacant, Array sign still posted - Optopolis Do you recognize this building? This is the Grier building on the corner of Central Avenue and East Lincolnway. It now has a new tenant-specifically having to do with horse racing-which has opened up shop in what was previously Dillinger's Bar. A look at the history of the Grier/Gleason Building Constructed in the 1910s (Sometime between '11 and '13 depending on your source*), Gleason Mercantile Co's name came from F.E. Warren's general store's manager. According to a PDF (PDF download) on the Cheyenne City Website, the original store located in the Warren Building had outgrown its space, resulting in the choice to build the new store (PDF) .
