The Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board (CHPB) chose the Asher Building to be the 2026 recipient of the LeClercq Jones Award for Historic Preservation. The property at 500 W 15th St, represented by Cash-Wa Direct store manager, Laurie Hutchinson, maintains many of the aspects that make the building recognizable such as its distinctive charm and character, and physical aspects like the floors and structural support. It was built in the mid-1900s as a whole sale grocery store; today, Cash-Wa Direct offers wholesale and bulk grocery items. Other tenants that make up the facility currently include Chronicles Distilling, Matthew Idler Photography, FURever Friends, Cheyenne Creativity Center, and Inner Glow Studio (along with Cosmic Jace). It’s anticipated that two other tenants will soon open in the building.
