New entertainment center, IAE, to open at Frontier Mall

CHEYENNE - Interaction Amusement Experience (IAE), a family entertainment center, is in the process of renovating a space inside the Frontier Mall, and it will be located near Bomgaars!

A glance at the history

Most recently in 2023, IAE's space was one of multiple Frontier Mall storefronts used by Delta Kappa Gamma for their 39th Annual Used Booksale. In 2022, this space was scheduled to be the temporary location for Barnes and Noble, but plans for the temporary location fell through and never came to fruition. Prior to the Barnes and Noble debacle, All Wild and Western occupied this space, and before that, DEB--a clothing store--occupied this space in the 2000s.

A section of a 360-degree spherical photo shows DEB among other stores including Sears and Joann. This image was captured during the time that Christopher & Banks still operated two storefronts at Frontier Mall - Paul Chubbuck via Google Maps

According to a Mall Directory included in a release from Wyoming Tribune Eagle dated Mar. 17, 18, 1981, this space originally made up two tenants. The space nearer to Sears was occupied by Record Bar as of the time of the mall's opening; the other space nearer to Joslin's/Dillard's didn't have a tenant noted.

Interaction Amusement Experience to open in August 2025

Interaction Amusement Experience is a family entertainment center that intends to provide connection and play for people of all ages through interactive games and music. Their website states that they intend, "to provide connection for our communities: families, their children, young adults, and older adults," and that it's a place, "where fun knows no age limit."

Recent posts to their Facebook page indicate that IAE will feature, "motion-activated wall and floor projection games where you are the controller." Images displayed on their website that demonstrate this concept depict both individuals and groups dancing and otherwise interacting with projected graphics that display on the wall or ground. They describe the experience as, "like virtual reality without the goggles [or] glasses."

Their website indicates that their grand opening will take place in, as of the time of publishing, approximately 15 days and some odd hours (or simply August 22nd). UPDATE 08-26-2025: In addition to visitors being able to purchase tickets, parties and events can also now be booked. Pricing is as follows:

The business does feature a couple of retro joystick arcade games (in a modern aesthetic of course) in addition to a mini, seated soccer area and multiple visual-aided games. An area mainly for youth also includes a physical Tetris Tumble set. There is a snack bar, as well, to better serve visitors at the business; this is all in addition to a large area where dancing and other games could potentially take place.

The first hundred guests were able to get a free gift, and you could buy one admission and get another at 50% discount.

What do you think?
