Located at 2611 Whitney Rd north of the RR tracks, Wits End Adventure Park (WEAP) is a brand new, locally-owned adventure park that’s been years in the making; they plan to open very soon, but ‘when’ depends on how hiring goes. Part of what’s taken so long for the park to get this far is that it’s been built piece by piece mainly by a family rather than a large crew.
To-boot, the park plans to feature four themed-paintball fields including a king-of-the-hill field which uses dirt mounds, as well as a semi-speed-ball-style field using intermediate bulk container (IBC) totes. However, David Sutherland, the owner of the park, isn’t stopping at paintball! WEAP already has a dedicated area for food trucks to park and metal picnic tables ready for visitors to sit and enjoy their meals. Eventually, David plans to add axe-throwing cages, ropes and zip-line courses above the creek, and a grassy park-like area next to their outdoor patio space. Ultimately, David is working to build a place where families and people of all ages can come hang out and have fun.
