Delta Kappa Gamma, Upsilon Chapter, plans to hold their 42nd Annual Used Book Sale on the first two FULL-weekends of March 2026, and it will be inside of the former JoAnn at Frontier Mall.

Starting February 2nd, book donations will be accepted behind JoAnn, between Bomgaars and Appliance Factory; alternatively, there are various collection boxes at businesses throughout Cheyenne. Keep reading for more details!

Recent events: JoAnn and the Book Sale

JoAnn closed all their stores in 2025 including their Frontier Mall store as part of a bankruptcy filing. Their more-recent Frontier Mall store wasn't JoAnn's first time in Cheyenne or inside the mall. JoAnn had a location across the hall in Frontier Mall, but that store closed long-ago, many years prior to JoAnn's return to the mall. Additional details about the space were discussed in last year's article discussing the closure of JoAnn.

In 2025, Delta Kappa Gamma held their book sale at the newer Big Lots store next to Frontier Trampoline Park. In the few years prior, the book sale was held at the older Big Lots; in one recent year, DKG even took over several small spaces throughout Frontier Mall to put on their book sale! The 2026 annual used book sale will be at the mall for the second time in the last six years, and this year, they will have a newly refreshed space as a result of recent events.

A water main break in late 2025 caused significant damage to the JoAnn space; several individuals at the scene of the flood have told Optopolis that JoAnn's floor buckled under the pressure. In addition, several stores have been in the process of cleaning up after the flood. Twinkle Twinkle Little Store and Compass Rose both previously had new floors installed in their respective spaces, and La Mekicana and Interaction Amusement Experience are both currently in the process of getting a new floor installed.

As for the repairs to the JoAnn space, Delta Kappa Gamma will have a newly-laid concrete floor on which to set up their book sale, and initially, while the book donation period commences, some additional interior work is expected to be underway.

Delta Kappa Gamma announces Book Sale: Where to Donate

Delta Kappa Gamma is planning to hold their 42nd Annual Used Book Sale at the old Jo-Ann at Frontier Mall. Book donations will be accepted starting February 2nd and running through March 1st. As usual, DKG prefers books to be dropped off at the location of the book sale (the former JoAnn), and in this case, donors should go behind JoAnn between Bomgaars and Appliance Factory; donors should look for signs directing where to drop off books. Drop-off hours at the former JoAnn are everyday from 9 AM to 4 PM starting February 2nd and running through March 1st.

Anyone (within 10 miles of the former JoAnn) who is unable to deliver books OR has a large donation should call either 307-630-3682 or 307-421-1755 for an appointment; callers should leave a message, and books will need to be boxed and placed on a porch or inside of a garage for pickup.

According to Delta Kappa Gamma's press release, "Books on CD, DVD’s, games, vinyl records, and puzzles are appreciated. Old text books, VHS tapes, condensed books and encyclopedias do not sell. Please recycle them elsewhere." As per usual, the first weekend features the regular DKG pricing; the second weekend will allow customers to get a box, provided at entry, and fill it to the brim for $10.

DKG announces Book Sale Dates

The book sale will occur on the following dates at the following times:

  • Saturday, March 7 at 8 AM to 5 PM
  • Sunday, March 8 at 9 AM to 4 PM
