CHEYENNE - According to the front page of their website, Claire's will be closing all locations including the one at Cheyenne Frontier Mall. This includes all Icing by Claires locations, a Claires-related store that offered products to an older age demographic.
A glance at the history
This space, located next door to Pretzel Makers/TCBY, has been occupied by Claires for over two decades as confirmed by archives of Frontier Mall's website and directory. Although the exact date of opening isn't currently known to Optopolis, Claire's isn't original to this space.

Based on the Frontier Mall Directory included in the issue of the Wyoming State Tribune-Eagle dated Mar. 17, 18, 1981, this space was originally part of the present-day American Eagle Outfitters space; at one time, the entire space (both AE and Claire's) made up 1981's K-G Men's Wear. Whether the space was downsized before or after AE opened is unclear to Optopolis at this time.
All Claires have been announced to close
It was previously reported by USA Today and others that Claire's filed for bankruptcy and had plans to shutter 13 Claire's stores and 5 Icing stores.

However, sometime over the last few days, the websites for both Claire's and Icing indicate that store closing sales are taking place at all locations, and it states that everything is on sale. Their advertisement on the website is entitled, "One Last Sparkle."
Cheyenne Claire's is closing
In a visit made by Optopolis on August 12th, 2025, the Cheyenne Claire's had signage posted regarding its own closing sale. Large red signs posted in the windows state, "Store Closing Sale," "Now Save 40-60% off entire store," and "Entire store on sale!" A sign on the checkout counter reads, "All sales final | no returns."

A black-and-white paper sign at the entry states, "Free ear piercing with purchase of starter kit (Kit contains starter earrings + solution) / Starter kits 40% off."
Back in January 2025, rumor was spreading around the community that the Cheyenne Claire's may be closing this year, and now in summer 2025, this rumor has come true as a result (at least in part) of the company filing for bankruptcy.

At the time of writing, it's not clear to Optopolis when the final day will be, but according to Claire's website, all locations have sales of up to (or beyond) a 50% discount. The Claire's and Icing websites also indicate that gift cards and rewards must be used by August 29th, 2025.
Update 08-26: Cheyenne Claires has already closed
On August 20th, USA Today reported that a deal with private equity firm Ames Watson had been announced, which would result in the sell of its North America operations. Although the liquidation sale at many locations was halted, some are continuing their closing sales.

As for Cheyenne, the store has already closed, and it's not clear to Optopolis if the store will reopen under new ownership as was previously rumored/speculated. The exact closure date of the Cheyenne store isn't known to Optopolis. On August 15th, it was observed that the then-mostly empty store had sales of 50 to 70 percent off the entire store. During a visit made on August 25th, the store was observed to be closed, and it was mostly empty with the exception of fixtures and some Claire's signage.
