Last night, February 12th, at about 6 PM, 307 Hatchet House officially opened their new location to the public for the first time. Walk-ins and reservations are welcome, and the facility is going back to normal business hours. And, yes, they are dog friendly.
Recent events
307 Hatchet House was previously located along Nationway near Ashley Furniture. They originally opened about three years ago in May of 2022, and their core game is throwing axes at a board that looks suspiciously similar to a dart board... But much bigger and made of watered-down-wood. Although axe-throwing is their main gig, the location also featured pool, air hockey, and some arcade games.

The lease on their old location was coming to the end, so they had to move out of that location which closed in very late December 2024. They ultimately chose to move to a new location in Downtown Cheyenne which, initially, wasn't clear to Optopolis... but now, it's very clear.
Their new location is directly next to The Downtowner building, also home to Paris West and Bark in the Park; longtime Cheyenne residents will recognize this building as the Extended Stay Central Plaza Hotel.

For more than a month, Nick, the owner, has been working hard to reopen the Hatchet House inside of this new location, making sure he has all the necessary insurance, installing all the fixtures, and general preparation for operation.
New location opens, what to expect
307 Hatchet House was hoping to be open at their new location sooner, but they were able to officially and softly open at 6 PM on February 12th, 2025. Something that will likely be obvious to visitors at the new location is that the space is a tad smaller.

Nick told Optopolis that the old location had nine lanes of hatchet throwing, whereas the new location only has five lanes. Although fewer lanes is more manageable for Nick, he does encourage visitors to set up a reservation to ensure a lane is open for them.
Visitors can walk-in or they can set up a reservation online. Customers looking to throw axes must meet certain requirements; axe throwers must...
- be at least 18 years old (there is an exception, keep reading)
- sign a waiver
- wear closed-toe shoes
Here's the exception. If you are ages 8 to 17, you must have an adult (18 years old or older) present who can sign the waiver for you.

There are certain rates which the axe-throwing lanes operate at, and the costs are as follows, according to 307 Hatchet House's Facebook page...
- Normal rates: Everyone throws for $20 per hour
- Groups of 10+ People: Everyone throws for $18 per hour
- Military and First Responders: Throws for $18 per hour
- Kids 8 to 17 years old: Throws for $5 per hour
Those who visited the old location will remember that they had some family-friendly games set up inside of their space, such as pool, air hockey, and arcade games. Although the games aren't set up just yet, Nick told Optopolis that the games will soon be set up next to the windows facing The Downtowner building.

Nick said they will be going back to normal hours, effective immediately. According to their website, their hours are as follows...
- Wednesday, Thursday - 5 PM to 9 PM
- Friday - 4 PM to 9 PM
- Saturday - 1 PM to 9 PM
- Sunday - 1 PM to 6 PM
- They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
In a new Facebook post dated February 13th, 2025, Nick said that you can order a beverage at Paris West and bring it over to the Hatchet House. While Nick still has more work to do to get the space to a sense of complete normalcy, visitors can now throw some axes, either by walk-in or reservation. He is looking to have a grand opening event in the coming months, though the date is yet to be announced.
